I Apologize for the Drawings

It’s funny. I’m actually embarrassed by my last post. Whenever I post my artwork I get embarrassed. I never won any award for it in school. No one ever said, “Hey kid, can you draw something for me.” Why I’m deciding to post my drawings here is beyond me. I guess it’s an exercise in humility, although if that were the case, I shouldn’t feel compelled to keep them posted, which I do. I’ve decided to go purchase a real website for this blog. That way when I have the urge to post some crappy doodle, I can hide it somewhere on the site instead of treating it like a bonified post, which it is not. Please ignore the scrawlings on the wall.

I finished the Huffington Post book I mentioned on Sunday. I’d liken my hypothetical doodle page to one of the celebrity writers in the book. This guest writer made one cryptic post about keeping his own hidden blog and all of the sudden the Huffington Post folks realized the guy had started a make-shift blog just on his profile page. I say kudos to him.

So I’ve got a couple domain names I’m mulling over:

writebad.com

dailydilly.net

badhabit.us

bwozdaily.com

That’s all I’ve got so far. I gotta tell you I’m really surprised that writebad.com was still available. Of course I’d probably be shooting myself in the foot there. Who’d go to writebad.com for writing advice? You’d maybe go to a place like that to laugh at somebody, not for advice. Regardless (“irregardless” here in Minnesota), it’s still my top choice. Please weigh in if you have an opinion.

Dailydilly.net is my second choice. It would be my first choice except dailydilly.com is taken by some cheesy online gaming site that looks like it hasn’t seen the light of day since 1990.

Until the wonderful day when I can decide on a domain name, I’ve still got to deal with this confounded doodle art. That’s where my new rule comes into play. For new art posts  I will only give myself one sentence to explain the drawing. That way the postings will take up a little less space and not mess up what little feng shui I’ve got going here. This should also make for some pretty strange captions, which will hopefully deflect from the suckitude of the artwork. I apologize for the drawings.
